Next Level Racing Motion Plus Platform (Cockpit-Mover)

All good things come in threes: With the new Motion Plus Platform, Next Level Racing is expanding the Motion Eco System of the Motion Platform V3 and the Traction Plus System with a third component. Now it is also possible with the Next Level Racing systems not only to tilt the seat (Seat Mover) or to move the cockpit sideways to simulate oversteer and understeer (Cockpit Slider or Mover), but also to raise the entire cockpit. In contrast to other concepts (such as our Beast), the lifting is not realised by individual actuators (such as those of the Qubic system) but by one or two integrated modules that are mounted under the cockpit. The Next Level Racing cockpits GTTrack, GT- or FGT-Elite and even the FGT cockpit are supported as standard (with adapters if necessary), which until now had to remain completely outside the scope of the motion upgrade. But we will also support cockpits from other manufacturers in the future.

Designed for precision and accuracy

Built to provide chassis motion with precision and accuracy to complete the user experience. The Motion Plus Platform provides a new level of realism and immersion for motion to become a natural progression of the simulation journey. To close the gap between real and virtual, telemetry data from gameplay is transferred through the software and translated into precise and accurate movement in the hardware, with acceleration of up to 1100mm per second.

The full experience

Focusing on movement of the chassis during the development phase, the Motion Plus Platform translates crucial simulation effects like bumps, braking, acceleration, gear shifts and road effects into accurate and precise movements felt by the user in their cockpit. The user is able to roll into every corner with speed and precision, with up to 21 degrees/second of velocity roll, while braking and accelerating effects can be felt at up to 8 degrees/second to allow the user to adapt and stay in control.

Advanced technologies

Rather than industrial or adapted actuators, the Next Level Racing® Motion Plus Platform uses advanced technology and manufacturing developed from the ground up, purely for simulation. Through magnetic encoders attached to the motor shaft, the Motion Plus Platform is able to provide precise feedback from the gameplay to the hardware. This further provides cues to close the gap between real and virtual for an immersive experience.

Build the complete ecosystem

With a multitude of configurations, the Next Level Racing® Motion Plus Platform allows to adapt and design your own custom motion experience. A singular unit of Motion Plus platform will provide the user with 2-DOF experience, and allows them to upgrade to a 3-DOF with an addition of a second unit offering pitch, roll, and heave. Finally managed to assemble the rig - have to say the platform is amazing. Having one platform only of course pitch effects are not so great, bit everything else is. The roll angle is more than enough, the acceleration is great (mostly because of the small travel and distance between actuators). The platform was actually jumping off the ground in the default Assetto Corsa profile. I did not have time to mount my front Aura bass shakers, so tested it without front suspension effects. The engine vibrations and detail the platform is producing is great - not even sure i need the front shakers any more. At first i tested without any bass shakers, the front of the car was very alive and felt like real car finally, but it was quite boring at the back - definitely placing two platforms would be great. Then I started my shakers and voila - everything was consistent. My back shakers are pretty good at simulating suspension, so finally the whole rig was working consistent as one single unit. I mentionet the pitch effects. They are there, they are fast, just no so pronounced. But on the other hand i have them paired with the V3 seat mover, which is quite good at providing them. Both platforms together compliment each other great and work very well together. Following NLR’s advice to put platform in front for single installation was correct, especially with a V3 in the rig. I relly thing the effects are more beneficial in front where you have direct contact with your feet and steering wheel. Placing some bass shaker even without the seat mover will fix the lack of feel in the back - again I want to reiterate that the detailed vibrations that the Motion Plus platform provides are amazing. Something that I will investigate further is how jump landings feel. Also I will put soon my front shakers and see how suspension effects will compliment the platform. At 100% in profile default setting we had issues holding onto the wheel, it is pure violence. This tells me The platform actually delivers the promised performance and for the small form factor it has is just amazing. Really would wish to add a back unit and see the complete result. Force2Motion Seatframe

The F2M seatframe replicates the substructure of the original Next Level GT Track seat or cockpit and extends its function by the possibility of mounting a joystick for a flight cockpit in the centre position in front of the seat (between the pilot's legs). The centrestick can be mounted statically. Depending on how far forward the centrestick is to be positioned, the round mounting plate can be moved forward or back through various drill holes in the range of 0-40mm. The compatibility to the NLR Flightpack is maintained and creates the mounting possibility universally also for other cockpit/seat combinations. With the F2M adapter system Motion Platform Plus it is possible to mount one or two Motion Platform Plus on the Traction Plus. Depending on the rider's weight (75-100 kg) and the mounted cockpit, an additional V3 can then be inserted into the cockpit.

The system consists of a lower (mandatory) and upper (optional) carrier system. Depending on the cockpit used, the upper carrier may or may not be required. The lower carrier is called the basic set and contains the floor plates 150mm and two cross members with bracing plates for Traction-Plus mounting. These parts are not or only partially needed for the upper beam (extension set), as the Motion-Plus platforms are located at this point. The upper support can also be used on its own to extend the Wheel Stands DD and 2.0 with one or two Motion-Plus platforms and a V3 to a Motion Cockpit.

The upper frame (F2M adapter system Motion Platform Plus extension carrier) is used to accommodate the Wheel Stands of the NLR GTTrack Cockpit or the NLR Wheel Stand DD or the NLR Wheel Stand 2.0 and, together with a V3, to form the cockpit, which can then be equipped with one or two Motion Platform Plus. If this construct is to be mounted on a Traction Plus, you will also need the F2M base support.

And the upper frame can also (alone - without the lower carrier) "transport" the NLR FGT cockpit (with and without NLR seat) to a Motion Cockpit. Here you can integrate one or two Motion Platform Plus and operate the whole thing "solo" with the original floor supports from NLR. And you can even strap the system onto a Traction Plus system.
